Where is hot in October? Four timeshare favourites where the sun shines all autumn

With the long, sun-drenched days of summer slowly drawing to a close, temperatures are already starting to fall as the nights draw in. If frosty mornings and drizzly rain aren’t for you, chances are you’re already thinking of an autumn/winter getaway.

So…where is it still hot in October? We’ve handpicked some of our favourite autumn hotspots where the sun will definitely still be shining.

1)    The Canary Islands

Just off the west coast of Africa, the Canary Islands deliver year-round sun backed up by impressive day time temps. October should be around 24C, so whether you’re looking to sunbathe on sweeping beaches, pack in various rounds of golf, enjoy the watersports, or hike the local mountain trails, these islands are just perfect.

Tenerife is the largest of the group and boasts a spectacular coastline. The famous resorts Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas are perfect for a party atmosphere and all-night venues, although you won’t want to miss a trip to Mount Teide – Tenerife’s volcanic centre piece which has been lying dormant since 1909.

If it’s beaches you’re looking for, then head to Gran Canaria’s Maspalomas, a three-and-a-half-mile stretch of glistening white sand and impressive dunes.

2)   Cyprus

The island linked to Aphrodite enjoys an extended summer from April to November, making Cyprus the perfect Autumn destination. Holidaymakers can expect plenty of sizzling sun, hot temperatures and low rainfall throughout October, while the delicious cuisine and range of beautiful beaches make it ideal for foodies and sun worshippers.

The Paphos area (particularly the soft sands of Coral Bay) has a huge range of clean beaches, as well as plenty of luxe hotels and timeshare resorts, whether you’re looking for self-catering, spa resorts or golf complexes.

3)   Dubai

While summer is too hot for many, the jewel in the crown of the United Arab Emirates has become a firm favourite for winter sun breaks with holidaymakers thanks to its sizzling autumn temperatures (around 30C)  – you can count on excellent sandy beaches, luxurious hotels and awe-inspiring architecture.

This family-friendly destination also offers plenty to see and do, whether you’re looking to go shopping, hit an indoor ski slope, wine and dine in some of the world’s most spectacular restaurants, or fall from great heights at Dubai’s theme parks.

With daily non-stop flights from UK airports, it’s easy to see why Dubai is one of our favourite autumnal holiday hotspots.

4) Morocco

Winter temperatures in Marrakech can be glorious! With more easyJet and Ryanair flights than ever before to the pink-walled, romantic city with its colourful souks, this destination is closer than you might think – just 3.5 hrs flight from London.

If you’re up for a sunlounger-and-souk holiday, Swiss timeshare specialist Hapimag’s resort in the beautiful palm-dotted La Palmeraie quarter just outside Marrakech city is a lovely spot to linger, with live entertainment at night, a cool blue pool for perfecting that golden glow and interesting excursions to argan co-operatives, local sights and the pretty beach town of Essaouira.
