With Europe’s most important shared ownership conference RDO3 just over three months away, the Resort Development Organisation is delighted to confirm the attendance of tourism experts Mr Carlos Vogeler and Professor Dimitrios Buhalis for this year’s event in London on 23 – 25 September.
This year’s event will take place at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa located in London’s fashionable new development, Chelsea Bridge Wharf.
Mr Carlos Vogeler, Regional Representative for the Americas, World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, Deputy Director, International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research, and Director, John Kent Institute in Tourism Director eTourism Research Lab, will be speaking to delegates about Tourism Trends – a hot topic for the tourism industry this year as it finds itself having to adapt not only to meet new consumer demands but also attract consumers in a challenging marketplace.
This year, RDO looks forward to welcoming Mr Carlos Vogeler (pictured) who is one of the leading experts in global tourism on innovation and social, economic, commercial and climatic sustainability. Mr Vogeler has held positions at top industry organisations including RCI, part of the American group Wyndham Worldwide, where he was Vice president for Western Europe and then Vice-president of Global Account Strategy & Industry Relations. For more information about UNWTO please visit the official World Tourism Organisation website http://www2.unwto.org/en.
And following his presentation at RDO2 last year, Professor Buhalis returns to RDO3 this September. Professor Buhalis has been teaching tourism related subjects in more than 30 universities around the world and is regarded as an expert in the impacts of ICTs in the tourism industry and eTourism, the management of tourism distribution channels as well as strategic tourism marketing and management.
Mr Vogeler and Professor Buhalis will be addressing what is going on in Tourism in general at the moment and looking at the opportunities and challenges on the horizon, in particular how the shared ownership industry can best position itself to experience healthy growth and attract a new generation of timeshare and fractional property owners.
There is still time to book tickets to RDO3 which moves to London this autumn, following last September’s extremely successful event in Marbella which attracted delegates from as far afield as Australia and the US. This year, delegates will be flying in from all over the world for the two day event at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa, London on 23-25 September 2012.

RDO’s annual event is regarded as one of the highlights on the shared ownership industry calendar and the definitive conference for those involved in the European timeshare and fractional industries. This year’s theme “Going The Distance” will tackle the big issues facing the industry currently and will ask, how do you stay on course and prepare the ground for long term success? How can resorts, developers and those working in all aspects of the industry plan the way ahead towards a profitable future, regardless of how challenging current conditions happen to be?
Top experts will be on hand to share their personal insights and answer questions on what our industry must do now to cultivate a successful future, based on their experience over the ups and downs of previous years.
In addition to 2 days of highly focused and valuable conference sessions, RDO3 will offer guests unparalleled networking opportunities including a number of social events over the entire two and a half days. With plenty of lively discussion, debate, expert insights and advice as well as ample opportunities for useful networking, the RDO annual conference is a must-not-miss event for industry executives.
