After months of grey skies, biting temperatures and long drawn-out evenings, a sunshine break is definitely what the doctor ordered. If you’re longing to feel the heat of spring sunshine on your back, here’s our pick of destinations where the sun most definitely shines in February.
Take inspiration from our these “currently hot” – or pleasantly warm – destinations to tempt you away to your overseas timeshare soon…
This Caribbean classic is one of the world’s most glamorous destinations for excellent beaches, a sizzling social life and fine eateries, Sun worshippers will feel right at home here and the mild waters are a swim-worthy. The only downside? The flight will take you eight to nine hours.
New timeshare favourite Dubai is booming big time as a winter sun holiday destination – and for good reason. Winter here only lasts around six weeks. The coming months are the perfect time to visit Dubai, before it gets too hot (summers are very hot and temperatures reach the 40’s). Plus, if you’re in need of some serious R&R, then what could be better than indulging in some excellent shopping in the modern malls and the international restaurant scene is thriving.
3) Cape Town
As one of the most photo-worthy settings of any port, Cape Town has it all – a bustling social life, pristine white beaches, and a spectacular landscape dotted with grazing zebra and wildebeest on Table Mountain. Our winter also happens to be summer in South Africa now, meaning you can expect nine or 10 hours of sunshine a day. Daily maximums don’t start to drop below 80F until the end of March.
Not keen on a long flight? The largest and most family-friendly of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is big on that “something for everyone” factor. Whether you want a winter sun break, a busy beach resort, a chic boutique hotel with a spa to die for or a secluded stay in a lush green mountain, you’ll find it here. The weather is pretty good too, and much more consistent year round than so many other destinations in the bleakest winter months – and it starts warming up even more as the spring flowers bloom.
Alongside the mystery and wonders of the souks of Marrakech, you can expect to find some glorious sunshine and balmy temperatures. There are also plenty of excellent boutique hotels and riads and culture to explore, too. We also love that however hot it is here, the distant Atlas mountains may be capped with snow. If you’ve never been to North Africa, Marrakech is a great city to start with. Stay at the Hapimag Residence Marrakech for the perfect mix of poolside days, organised excursions and candle-lit dining-out dinners.
