We have stayed at various Diamond Resorts, but our favourite is Santa Barbara in Tenerife, which happens to be the first resort we ever visited.
We love the location over-looking the sea and have on occasions seen dolphins from the balcony.
All the staff are very helpful and willing to carry out any requests, nothing appears to be too much trouble.
Last November a new sign was erected saying “Welcome Home”, which we feel is very appropriate – we always feel as if we are going home when we go there and the staff feel like friends to us.
Over the years we have found that many people return there and friendships have been formed. Last November a group of us celebrated a member’s 48th Wedding Anniversary. The couple concerned provided a buffet lunch (and everyone else supplied the champagne!!) In the evening we all went to the Restaurant on site for a celebration meal.
During the days there are activities to take part in, and a group of us have even borrowed the boules and played together.
Last November it was necessary for the electricity to be turned off in the apartments for most of the day and various other places from time to time, to enable the electricity supply to be upgraded. This was very well organised causing the minimum of disruption to the guests. We were all given battery lanterns. As it was not possible to let us know exactly when the electricity would be restored, a number of us decided it would be a good idea for us all to go off site and enjoy a meal in a local restaurant, although on the day the restaurant was in fact open.
We have already booked to go back again in March and November this year.
