Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to holiday in Lake District

Hollywood’s most famous celebrity family is spending a few days in The Lake District during a break in between filming, according to a flurry of press reports this week.

Now that the news is out, the picturesque destination and popular timeshare holiday spot will no doubt be seeing an influx of visitors over the coming days.

The couple are said to have booked a boathouse at Lake Windemere where it’s reported they’ll stay with their six children, according to the Daily Mirror.

A source told the paper they’d chosen the Lakes for a holiday because Angelina Jolie was originally supposed to be shooting her latest movie Maleficent in the vicinity, but the film relocated to a more convenient spot close to Pinewood studios.

“Brad has rented out an entire boathouse, and the couple have been looking up some local restaurants to dine at whilst there. They’re also planning a day of quad biking for the kids – and Brad," said the source.

Last August, the A-list couple spent some time in Cornwall while Brad Pitt was working the zombie thriller World War Z, parts of which were filmed in Falmouth. This year the family have already spent the Bank Holiday weekend at the chic but relaxed coastal town of Le Touquet in Pas-de-Calais, northern France.

Showbiz journalists say the pair are rumoured to be getting married this summer after seven years together. While in France, they found time to pop into a toy shop in Le Touquet to buy gifts for their children. The Daily Mail reported that the shop’s owners were thrilled at the surprise visit and posted a message on the shop’s Facebook page saying: "Absolutely charming and sweet family!! Thanks for the visit!"

Tranquil, beautiful and inspirational, The Lake District has inspired some of Britain’s most famous writers and poets from Beatrix Potter to William Wordsworth.
