Key speakers and panelists will debate the “The Road Ahead” for the shared ownership industry
Leading worldwide exchange organisation Interval International will be a platinum sponsor of this year’s RDO Conference entitled “The Road Ahead”.
Delegates from all corners of the globe will be in southern Spain this October for the 2010 annual RDO Conference www.rdoconference.org which takes place at the glamorous Don Carlos Resort and Spa in Marbella.
The two and a half day event promises to be a unique opportunity for keynote speakers, panelists and guests from the hotel and resort world, as well as trust companies, financiers and legal experts to discuss key topics affecting the shared ownership and related industries today.
Shared ownership has held up comparatively well considering the impact of the global downturn and “The Road Ahead” is sure to be an interesting one – onward and upward but not without some formidable challenges.
As well as lively discussion about what lies ahead, there will be plenty of time for networking, socialising, cocktails and even a round of competitive golf (with prizes).
Key speakers and panelists from Interval International include:
* David Clifton, managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, who will lead the provocatively-entitled session “Where is the Next Pot of Gold?
* Darren Ettridge, vice president of resort sales and service for Europe, Middle East, and Africa will participate on the fractional panel “Selling the Dream – a Piece at a Time
* José Miguel Echenagusia, vice president of legal services for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, will join the panel “Working with the Timeshare Directive – a Practical Guide
* Michael Myers, group director of marketing and travel, will present a session “Redefining Your Product – What Can We Learn from the Cruise Industry?” He will also join the panel looking at the use of social networks in the industry.
This conference provides an important forum for industry leaders to discuss the opportunities ahead, as well as the issues we face in a challenging marketplace. For this reason, we are extremely pleased to be a Platinum sponsor of RDO1
Main speakers will include Bob Cotton, OBE, Chairman of the British Hospitality Association (who received his OBE in 2003 for his outstanding contribution to the tourism and hospitality industry) and Bryan Lunt, chairman and CEO of The Absolute World Group of Companies. Absolute’s brands include YOO, and YooPhuket in Thailand which has won awards for its stand-out designer homes by Philippe Stark and John Hitchcox.
Commenting on the news that Interval International will be a Platinum Sponsor, Paul Gardner Bougaard, chief executive of the Resort Development Organisation www.RDO.org said, “Not only was Interval one of the first to step forward to sponsor the conference – the first to be held under the RDO banner, but it has gone even further by providing strong logistical support in both the planning and production of the event, which has proved of enormous value to the Secretariat. I would like to express my personal thanks and that of RDO for Interval’s unwavering support of the association and of this event.”
Darren Ettridge, who represents Interval on the RDO Board, added, “This conference provides an important forum for industry leaders to discuss the opportunities ahead, as well as the issues we face in a challenging marketplace. For this reason, we are extremely pleased to be a Platinum sponsor of RDO1.”
