With the long bank holiday weekend fast approaching, Easter is the perfect time to relax and unwind after a busy start to the year. It’s also the first chance many of us will have to get away from it all this year, with the four-day weekend just enough time to sneak in some sun, go sight seeing or explore somewhere new.
If you’re feeling the travel bug this Easter, then why not squeeze in a short but sweet city break? Perfect for satisfying the travel itch, but without the need to book extra time off work, we’ve rounded up our pick of short breaks to take. Here are our top city getaways for spring:
The romance of Paris is well and truly alive in the spring, which is one of the best times to visit this beautiful city. Enjoy strolling through the cobbled streets in the warm sunshine, or wander through Marais, Montparnasse or St. Germain. We love soaking up the early spring sunshine with fresh pastries and coffee, served outside on the pretty pavements. If you’ve never explored a timeshare city break in Paris, there are a number of self-catering apartments to stay in, making your Parisian spring escape more like a comfy home-from-home mini-holiday.
Rome goes into full-on celebration mode over Easter, which is one of the busiest times of the year here. There’s an electric and moving atmosphere as tens of thousands of people make a pilgrimage to the ancient city. Visit the Vatican, and then join the Stations of the Cross procession through the streets of Rome.

The spring also sees the wonderful the scent of orange blossom lingering in the air in this vibrant, full-of-character capital, which is a beautiful, historic city filled with winding, cobbled streets, Culture lovers can take their pick of spectacular Moorish palaces, or…just sit and enjoy some tapas in the sun.
Make the most of some really good weather while you partake in the traditional Greek way of celebrating Easter. Spend leisurely mornings around the pool, or see some of the most famous sights in the world, before settling down to celebrate like the locals – with roast lamb al fresco, washed down bottles of excellent local wines.

Combining ancient traditions with the birth of new life, Dubrovnik really comes into its own at Easter time. The city is fringed by spectacular landscapes – think turquoise seas and tree-lined peaks.
