Christmas comes early with EasyJet

The UK’s largest airline is adding two new services in time for Christmas. The first is Gatwick to the Greek Island of Kefalonia and tickets are on sale from 20th October. The route will run three times a week from 28 April to end of October 2012.

Kefalonia is part of the Ionian Islands group (like Corfu) and lies on the western coast of Greece and is well known for its fabulous beaches, breathtaking views and the island gets up to 12 hours of sunshine a day. Greece is firmly on the 2011/12 the timeshare holiday hotspot shortlist as airlines are extending their reach with more frequent flights to more islands.

Meanwhile, the airline is also flying to Berlin five times a week starting this week, which is perfect timing for Germany’s famous Christmas markets which start in late November. Flights are from Manchester.

Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK director, said, “Our new route to Kefalonia from Gatwick adds even more choice for passengers…Kefalonia is among the pick of the Mediterranean’s most desirable getaways.”

EasyJet flies to 93 destinations from Gatwick alone, which include Amman, Catania, Fuerteventura, Seville, Izmir, Bologna, Verona, Zagreb and Aberdeen. Kefalonia is the tenth new route to be added from Gatwick this year.
