Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled an eye-catching campaign inspired by New York city to celebrate its latest ship, which launches later this year.
The Norwegian Breakaway will be the largest liner to homeport year-round in the Big Apple once the sleek ship arrives in May – and to celebrate its home city, Norwegian Cruise Line aims to bring the very best of New York to sea.
As part of the city theme, the ship’s colourful hull has been designed by legendary New York artist Peter Max to depict some of the city’s most famous landmarks.
To ensure that passengers on the Breakaway will be able to enjoy the full Big Apple experience, there will also be Broadway shows on board , while areas of the cruise liner will be transformed into Central Park and the neighbourhood of SoHo.
The Breakaway also aims to celebrate its New York roots by airing a series of television commercials in America, while the city’s residents will be invited to see what is on offer onboard the ship throughout January.
Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer, said: “It’s so exciting to be launching this dynamic advertising campaign promoting our new ship, Norwegian Breakaway.
“Our goal with the campaign is to show the ship’s strong connection to New York City in a visually striking way that will inspire everyone to want to come aboard.”
The Breakaway will be sailing from the Big Apple to Bermuda, the Bahamas, Florida and the Caribbean when it enters service.
