Sorry, baby, but you can’t fly first class!

Malaysian Airlines has caused controversy by announcing that tiny tots are officially banned from flying in first class cabins on its new Airbus A380 super jumbos. The ban was already in place on their Boeing 747s and now covers the new aircraft.

Airline CEO Tengku Azmil said the policy was introduced after objections from first class passengers about crying babies, but later the airline released a statement claiming it was actually the lack of bassinet facilities that had contributed to the ban, adding that baby facilities were available in economy and business sections.

Babies won’t be travelling first class on flights from Kuala Lumpur to London, Amsterdam or Sydney and as far as we gather from news reports, Malaysia Airlines is the first to introduce the baby-free first class zone.
