Many of the UK’s most popular airlines are introducing new flight routes for next summer, good news for British holidaymakers keen to try somewhere different.
easyJet has unveiled its new flights from summer 2016, with a record number of flights giving travellers the chance to hop on to one of 17.1 million seats between June and September next year.
And there’s excellent news for timeshare owners who love the US and who live in the north of England. Thomas Cook Airlines say they’re launching new long haul routes from Manchester to Boston and Los Angeles, set to take off next year.
Thomas Cook will fly twice a week to both LA and Boston starting May 2016 making these the only direct routes to either city operating from outside London.
The airline also recently launched services to New York and Miami from its north-west base.
The new flights to Boston and Los Angeles will be on newly refurbished Airbus A330 jets with Premium cabin service offering advance seat reservation and priority check-in, up to 32kg hold baggage, new seats with 35in pitch, celebrity chef James Martin meals and drinks as well an upgraded on-demand touch-screen in-flight entertainment system.

In addition, Thomson and First Choice have announced that summer 2016 will see 24 new routes from regional airports, more weekly flights on existing routes and the return of Cuba to their destinations map, as well as direct, non-stop flights to Costa Rica for next year’s busy summer season.

The first Dreamliner flights from London Stansted to Cancun, Mexico and Sanford, Orlando, commencing in May 2016
London Gatwick will get a new summer flight to Costa Rica – the only direct, non-stop flight from the UK, plus the return of flights to Cuba, back by popular demand
Five new routes from Birmingham are being introduced on new 787 Dreamliner long haul flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as well as flights to Agadir, Morocco; Sardinia, Italy; Izmir, Turkey and Split, Croatia
Increased capacity to Aruba with the introduction of a new 787 Dreamliner long haul flight from Manchester
Additional flights to Cancun, Mexico on the 787 Dreamliner from Newcastle and Glasgow
Three new summer routes from Bristol Airport to Catania, Italy; Hurghada, Egypt and Sal, Cape Verde
The introduction of Pula, Croatia and Kefalonia, Greece from East Midlands Airport
Two new routes from Leeds Bradford Airport to Menorca and Paphos, Cyprus
New routes from Scotland – Edinburgh to Rhodes and Aberdeen to Gran Canaria
New route from Liverpool to Palma, Majorca for Thomson Cruises sailings on the Thomson Majesty complete with new itineraries
