Shaving seven minutes off last year’s finishing time for a 2011 personal best, Absolute Group CEO Bryan Lunt completed the Bintan Triathlon during the weekend of 21st-22nd May in a fundraising effort for Christel House.
Lunt completed the triathlon in Bintan (an hour from Singapore) in 1:37:11, seven minutes quicker than last year, despite squeezing the Triathlon into an extremely busy schedule in May which included Perspective Magazine’s GNEX 2011 conference in the Bahamas earlier this month.
Anyone who would like to donate can visit www.JustGiving.com/Bryan-Lunt – the goal is to raise £2,500 for Christel House.
Lunt had to complete a 750 meter swim, a 20 kilometer cycle and a five kilometre run in sweltering conditions. Last year, he completed the event in one hour and 44 minutes but reached the finish line seven minutes faster this year.
Meanwhile, former RCI executive Vivienne Noyes-Thomas has been scaling Mount Everest, raising almost £2,500 for Christel House in the process and exceeding her original target of 2,000. In recognition of her amazing feat, donations are being accepted at: www.justgiving.com/Vivienne-Noyes-Thomas0/1.
"If you donate via the Just Giving site and if you are UK taxpayers any donation will count for more as the income tax will be added on to your gift," she says.
"Just a few pounds can make a huge difference to these children’s lives, thank you in advance for anything you can do to support us."
Christel House Charity builds and runs learning centres in poor neighbourhoods. Their overall goal is to provide children with quality education, nutritious meals, regular healthcare, life skills training, character development and work-study opportunities.
Coming soon…The RCI Christel House Golf Tournament June 11th/13th
This year, the RCI Christel House Golf 2011 charity tournament will include two European events. The first rounds of golf will tee off on the sunny shores of the Algarve on Saturday 11 June at the Pestana Vila Sol golf course, Vilamoura, and the second event takes place on Monday 13 June at London’s Ealing Golf Club.
This year’s event will mark the ninth annual RCI Christel House Open, which is now a legendary event on the global shared ownership calendar. Golfers will be heading down the fairways at events hosted on courses on five continents, with around 1,800 golfers participating to raise funds.
100% of proceeds will directly benefit the children of Christel House
