Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket reveals the Top 50 Timeshare Resorts on TripAdvisor

The world’s top-rated timeshare resorts, ranked by TripAdvisor excellence ratings, have been revealed by resale specialists Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket, and the results make for very interesting reading.

The findings were published in The Mirror online this week at http://www.mirror.co.uk/features/timeshare-holidays-better-package-deals-2944593.

Forty out of the best-selling/best-rated 50 timeshare resorts boast the TripAdvisor 2013 Certificate of Excellence which translates as a fantastic result for the industry, reflecting the high standards of holidays on offer within the shared ownership sector.

Sought-after timeshare destination Marbella, a favourite with celebrities and athletes, featured heavily in the results.  The popular Marbella Beach Resort was one of the deserving Certificate of Excellence winners in 2013.

TripAdvisor’s “Certificate of Excellence”, is, as TripAdvisor say themselves, an award “given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews…and represent the upper echelon of business listed on the website, with only the top 10 percent receiving the prestigious award.”

British favourite Madeira also fared particularly well. This small island has a strong, longstanding  reputation with timeshare owners and 5 Madeira resorts appear in the Top 50, all of which hold TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence, and one of them holds the Travellers Choice Winner award.

Combining all the reviews posted on these resorts a staggering 93% of online reviewers rated their stay as “Excellent” or “Very Good” while only 2% considered their experience to be less than average.

Sun-soaked Gran Canaria features prominently in the Top 50, too, with 5 resorts in the top 50. Four of the island’s resorts proudly display the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014. Furthermore, out of over 400 reviews these resorts were given, 89% of reviewers said they had enjoyed an “Excellent” or “Very Good” experience.

Finally, back to Spain – and the jewel in Spain’s timeshare crown, Marbella. With 8 resorts in the Top 50, the Costa Del Sol boasts some impressive retreats, not least the Marbella Beach Resort and Playa Andaluza. All 8 resorts have been awarded the CoE for 2013 and of over 1400 reviews of these 8 resorts, 87% of users were very happy with their holidays, rating the resorts “Excellent” or “Very Good”.

The Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket/Mirror piece goes on to explain the essential timesharing concept and exchange programmes available, and points out the various advantages of timeshare ownership.  These include include value for money, high standards of accommodation, the perk of more space than a hotel room and of course another big advantage offering financial savings – self-catering, a big plus for larger families.

The feature also touches on the issue of high pressure sales presentations and the odd rogue trader which have left some owners with a product that is ill-suited to their needs or perhaps one that they don’t clearly understand.

However, things are changing and nowadays many timeshare owners are finding that the resale market can provide lower entry costs, a greater range of products – and greater flexibility – and a more informed choice.

Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket, a member of the Resort Development Organisation (RDO.org),  points out that the demographic most likely to enjoy timeshare holidays and get the most out of this lifestyle are couples and families who enjoy high quality accommodation, the freedom that comes with a self-catering holiday where they can settle in and enjoy the array of facilities on hand at a well-equipped hotel in a sought-after location.

Owners who can be flexible about holiday dates will also stand to benefit most from some of the fantastic offers available exclusively to timeshare owners through exchange companies such as RCI and Interval International.

For families who are tied to holidaying in the school holiday periods, timeshare is still an economical way to get away for regular breraks, although they are more likely to pay a premium for timeshares falling in peak periods.
