This festival filled with light, colour and noise is called the ‘Holy Cross’ festival. You’ll find hundred of crosses made from bright, beautiful flowers all across the town. Make sure you’re about for the firework competition, it’s spectacular.

June 23-24th Fiestas de San Juan, Puerto de la Cruz

Join the locals in this sleepy fishing town in welcoming in the warm summer. You’ll head to the beach where bonfires will be lit, while farmers bring their livestock down to the water to bathe them in the sea…apparently increasing fertility!

July 4-13th  Fimucite – Tenerife International Film Music Festival, Santa Cruz

This festival pays tribute to the recent film soundtracks that have stormed our screens. This year the festival will be dedicated to the TV series Batman composed by James Newton Howard. There will be workshops, concerts and debates held – a festival for everyone.

August 4-10th Professional Windsurfers Association World Championships, El Medano

Windsurfing On Gran Canaria.

El Medano is Tenerife’s longest beach and is known for its fantastic surf, making it home to the windsurfing championships. You’ll get a chance to watch some of the world’s best windsurfers while watching concerts and taking part in other activities along the beach.

September 14th Festival of the Christ La Laguna, La Laguna

October 18th Tenerife Bluetrail

You’ll find people from all over the world travelling to Tenerife for this popular and extreme mountain biking competition with four trails from 23 to 101 kilometres. The setting is the Tiede National Park.

November 1st Fiesta de San Andres, Icod de los Vinos

Amble about in and out of local wineries that will all be open for wine lovers and connoisseurs to sample what they to offer including their new vintages. December 25th Tenerife Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas Concert, Santa Cruz
