The world’s largest travel social networking site WAYN has launched a campaign to discover the number one island destination in the world.
WAYN is asking its 21 million members to vote for their favourite island. Seven islands will battle it out for the top spot, including Reunion, Seychelles, Bali, Hawaii, Ibiza, the Bahamas and Zanzibar.
Not surprisingly, many of the islands are timeshare hotspots, too – particularly Hawaii, a timeless favourite for American timeshare owners, with Ibiza high on the list too, as one of Europe’s most popular party islands.
Peter Ward, chief executive and co-founder of WAYN, said: “It will be interesting to see which way the competition swings – the seven islands are not only varied in location and culture, but in lifestyle as well.
“It will really depend on whether our WAYN users dream of a peaceful paradise, a jungle adventure or buzzing nightlife.”
The nominated destinations were selected through analysing market research data and by tracking user engagement on WAYN.com .
Members can vote for their favourite on WAYN’s microsite, with Amazon vouchers up for grabs for lucky winners.
In April, WAYN ran a competition to find the world’s top dream destination. Over 78,000 votes were cast to crown South Africa the favourite.
