Top Timeshare City Breaks for an Easter Escape

Whether you’ve been bitten by the travel bug or simply craving the sun on your skin, the long Easter weekend is the perfect time to book a city break.

The team at GoTimeshare have pulled together our travel knowledge to round up our top five city breaks to lure you away this Easter. Whether you like the look of culture-loving Seville or the stunning beaches of Dubrovnik, we’ve come up with five very different destinations where the sun should be warming up nicely for spring.

1)     Budapest, Hungary

If you’re on a budget, then look no further than the exotic and exciting Budapest. This “in vogue” city is buzzing with adventure and exciting night life – plus it’s steeped in history, too. We recommend visiting the medicinal thermal baths before heading to one of the edgy pubs to enjoy a pint of Hungary’s finest. The opera and theatre here is also brilliant, while you can’t miss sampling traditional Hungarian foods at the Easter Market on Vörösmarty.

2)     Athens, Greece

Jet off to the Greek capital to indulge in some glorious sun, warm-up temperatures and world-famous sight seeing. If you head here, you can’t miss seeing the beautiful Pericles’ Parthenon, as well as the adjacent Temple of Athena Nike and the colossal Theatre of Dionysusand. There’s also plenty of iconic architecture, delicious Greek food and cobbled streets just waiting to be explored.

3)     Dubrovnik, Croatia

Expect plenty of ancient traditions sitting alongside “the new”, as this incredible city livens up for spring. We’ve yet to meet anyone who has not fallen for Dubrovnik’s charms, and for good reason – fringed by azure seas and sweeping landscapes, Croatia’s dramatic Dalmatian Coast is truly spectacular. Take a stroll around the two-kilometre historical city wall overlooking ancient monasteries, aristocratic palaces and baroque churches before choosing a cosy spot for an early supper.

 4)     Istanbul, Turkey

Nowhere embodies East meets West more than iconic Istanbul, with its vibrant mix of cultures and traditions. Visit national treasures including the Blue Mosque or enjoy harbour views from rooftop bars by night. Just be sure to bring plenty of money – the sights and smells of the markets here are sure to lure you in.

5)     Seville, Spain

Celebrate Easter in style by enjoying Seville’s vibrant and traditional celebrations. Take to the streets with locals during Holy Week (Semana Santa) to watch the colourful processions go by, or simply revel in the delicious scent of orange blossoms hanging in the air. If you fancy a lazy weekend, then enjoy a leisurely afternoon sampling the delicious tapas at one of the Andalucian capital’s many restaurants.
