New Resort in “Italy’s undiscovered corner” joins Interval International

Naima Village, a brand new Italian resort in Puglia on the Salento coast of south-east Italy, is the latest affiliate of Interval International, the global exchange organisation announced today.

Located in Castellaneta on the Salento Peninsula, Naima Village resort is located in Puglia (Apulia), well known as “the unspoilt corner of Italy” where slow food and the laid back lifestyle of rural Italy live on. Empty beaches, rustic feasts and good golf are among the region’s highlights which stays warm most of the year, making it a great place to escape to for a post- or pre-summer break.

"Naima Village will enjoy a picture-perfect setting — surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, with majestic sea views from the Ionian coast," said Darren Ettridge, Interval’s vice president of resort sales and service for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. "I know Interval members will love the rich history and scenic beauty of this area, a part of Italy that remains off-the-beaten-path for most holidaymakers outside of Italy."

The brand new family-friendly resort is due to open May 2012, just in time for timeshare members to discover it next summer. Plans include 105 villas with two studio units, 92 one-bedroom and eleven two-bedroom apartments. Furnished in Mediterranean style, the air-conditioned units will have open-air verandas that look out onto gardens. Kitchenettes with microwave ovens, and in-apartment entertainment with LCD TV with cable/satellite service, as well as Wi-Fi are included. Units are also wheelchair accessible and the resort will have equipment and staff on hand to help handicapped guests.

With the emphasis on sports, Naima Village will have two pools to choose from, along with tennis, a bocci court ( bocci dates back to the Roman Empire, and closely resembles bowls or the French game petanque), playground, theatre, restaurant health club/sauna, games room and mini-market.

Those who wish to step-up their sports training can take one-to-one lessons, health check-ups and take advantage of some personal coaching. Puglia’s best beauty features include its beaches – famous for their crystal clear turquoise water and pristine golden sand and for those keen to explore further, organised excursions will be available.

“We are pleased to affiliate Naima Village with Interval International and are very excited to offer our owners the quality and worldwide scope of its exchange network,” said Benigno Maraglino, president of Via Lattea srl, developer of Naima Village.“Our first project in timesharing is a very appealing resort in the countryside near the beautiful beaches of Apulia, combining our unique expertise in EPS construction with our knowledge of all the area has to offer families.”

Puglia, home to the much-photographed “trulli” houses, is well known for its pretty rural scenery, slow, organic way of life and orchards and vineyards as far as the eye can see.
