Olympic Winter Games to Help Highlight Undiscovered Canada

Canada will be holding the Olympic Winter Games soon, but there is plenty more to discover in the country.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games will help show off the undiscovered parts of Canada to the world, the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has said.

According to Susan Iris, vice-president of strategic initiatives and 2010 Winter Games at the CTC, the body is carrying out a number of marketing projects designed to show off the unique and different travel experiences on offer in the country.

Even though the Games are to be held in Vancouver and British Columbia, they will prove what a diverse destination Canada is, Ms Iris commented.

She added that the organisation is targeting those travellers and timeshare owners looking to immerse themselves in local culture and cuisine.

Figures from the CTC show that 2.3 million overnight trips to Canada were made by international travellers in August 2009.

Timeshare owners looking for a place to stay in Canada can make their way over to Calabogie Highlands Vacation Villas, which is part of Interval International's network of resorts and offers views of Calabogie Lake.
