Canaries and Sharm El Sheikh Provide Winter Sun Destinations

Timeshare owners looking to get away from the harsh winter weather can head over to the Canaries or Sharm El Sheikh, which are expected to be popular this season.

Kayte Williams, holidays channel manager at travelsupermarket.com, pointed to the fact that the Canaries is a year-round destination and so will always be a hit with travellers.

As for Sharm El Sheikh, Ms Williams said that it has been tipped to be particularly prominent for the entirety of next year, while Turkey is set to prove popular as well.

Her comments come after recent research from Co-operative Travel indicated that there is a north-south divide with the annual dash for winter sun.

The study revealed that there has been a rise in bookings of up to 46 per cent at northern airports compared to last year.

Heathrow and Luton were the only southern airports to show an increase in the Co-operative Travel's sample.
