Nature Programmes Inspire Holidays Decisions

Timeshare owners looking to enjoy the pleasures of the planet have plenty of options open to them across the world and now research has shown that nature programmes have inspired a quarter of Brits' holiday choices.

According to the travelsupermarket.com study, the top nature holiday was found to be safaris, followed by whale or dolphin watching and swimming with dolphins.

Among the other top choices for such a trip were panda watching, polar bear spotting and jungle trekking.

Sharron Livingston, editor at thetravelmagazine.net, said that holidaymakers are looking for something different.

Culture, adventure, activity and learning breaks provide people with time out that also gives them a feeling of having done something worthwhile, Ms Livingston explained.

CV Travel research, meanwhile, has indicated that niche holidays such as those involving culture and learning a skill have seen a rise in popularity, with travellers looking for a more fulfilling experience.

The company projected that South Africa and New Zealand will be popular destinations next year.
