Holland: Dutch country was a big hit with visitors

Holland was hailed as the most welcoming country in Europe for British tourists, according to a recent poll.

The survey, published by One Poll, revealed that the Dutch country was a big hit with visitors, including timeshare owners.

Holland is growing increasingly popular among European tourists and scored almost twice as many votes as second-placed Greece.

Portugal was voted as the third most friendly country and was closely followed by Italy and Sweden.

A spokesman for One Poll explained that the majority of tourists appreciated the laid-back lifestyle of Holland.

Holland's capital, Amsterdam, is one of the most visited cities in the country and attracts around 3.5 million foreign visitors a year.

Other popular European holiday resorts include London, Paris and Berlin, according to research by the Independent and Lonely Planet, while Finland has also seen an increase in the number of visitors.
