New Airport Alentejo Set To Attract Portugal Buyers
A new airport set to open in the Alentejo in Portugal could open the region to a new generation of property buyers.
The Daily Mail says the hub is expected to open near the old Roman town of Beja and will attract tourists from the UK, Germany and Scandinavia on its completion.
Budget airlines are expected to operate from the new airport, giving timeshare owners more options when it comes to flying to Portugal.
The publication went on to say that previously the nearest airports had been at Faro and Lisbon - around two hours away - meaning that the beautiful landscapes, hilltop castles, elegant cities and fruit orchards of the region have largely gone unnoticed.
Southern Portugal offers plenty of culture, history, scenery, great food and year-round sunshine to visitors, it added.
With hot, dry summers often lasting into autumn and even November, Portugal is ideal for timeshare owners who want to escape the UK towards the end of the year.
