Timeshare Favourite Scotland Attracts More Visitors

VisitScotland’s Surprise Yourself TV campaign, targeted at the UK and Irish market, is drawing new visitors to Scotland’s bonny shores, according to the tourist board.

Scotland is a major timeshare and “staycation” destination and leading timeshare resort operators Hilton, Marriott, Club La Costa and Silverpoint all offer holidays in some of Scotland’s prettiest spots.

Two of the UK’s most prestigious fractional golf resorts also happen to be located north of the border: world famous Gleneagles runs a seasonal ownership programme at its golf and spa resort in Perthshire. Just minutes away from Gleneagles is Club La Costa’s Duchally Country Estate (pictured). And further north on the southwest coast of the Mull of Kintyre, new life has been breathed into Machrahanish Dunes, with a new course recently completed, as well as a hotel with attached fractional golf homes.

VisitScotland’s romantic ads have spotlighted its best known landmarks, Edinburgh Castle and Eilean Donan Castle among them, as well as more unusual elements of Scottish life, such as Belhaven Fire Festival and a seaplane taking off in Glasgow and landing on Mull.

One in four people watching the ads told VisitScotland said they felt “highly motivated” by the new Surprise Yourself TV ads to actually book a trip to Scotland.

Hilton Grand Vacations has three resorts in Scotland, in the Highlands at Hilton Coylumbridge, in the foothills of the Cairngorn Mountains; Craigendarroch, on the banks of the wooded River Dee in Royal Deeside; and the Hilton Dunkeld, fifteen miles north of Perth.
