Ryanair, easyJet, Thomas Cook and Flybe are among the airlines expanding their take-off slots from Stansted airport this summer.
There are some interesting new short haul routes, with long haul additions, too. Here’s a runway run-down covering the new flights:
Flybe – Timeshare owners heading to Cornwall this summer will be able to hop on a plane from Stansted instead of driving down.
Flights to the Isle of Man and Newcastle launched in late March, and the new Newquay in Cornwall flights will be starting 16th May.
Looking ahead to winter breaks, Ryanair has announced its new route three times a week toVerona. In addition to new routes/additional services to Castellon in Spain and Ponta Delgada in the Azores, the Verona flight starts in early November, with the Castellon itinerary launching 15th September. This will bring Ryanair’s routes from London Stansted up to 111. Chic French resort Deauville gets a boost with Monday and Friday services already in place for early summer.
Further south, exotic Tunisia gets easier to get to as easyJet opens up twice weekly flights to Monastir’s Mediterranean North African coastline, starting 2nd June.
Looking ahead to 2016, Thomson and First Choice say they’re opening long haul routes to two top timeshare destinations, the Mexican resort of Cancun and Orlando (Sanford), Florida.
Last but not least, Thomas Cook says it’s expanding its services to a number of destinations including a variety of Greek Isles. Airports include Las Vegas, Cancun, Orlando, Corfu, Fuerteventura, Izmir, Heraklion, Kefalonia, Kos, Rhodes and Skiathos.
