Baggage-scanners at Stansted Airport have confirmed they’ll strike during the Bank Holiday weekend following a disagreement over pay cuts.
The strike is set to take place between August 23 and 26, during the peak season UK Bank Holiday when many timeshare owners will be heading overseas for a last blast of sunshine before the school term begins.
92% of those who voted opted in favour of strike action over the pay cuts and the staff involved include airport workers who screen screen checked-in baggage before it goes into the holds of aircraft at the airport.
The strike action is due to take place between 3.30am and 6am and 3.30pm and 6pm each day.
Travellers flying out of Stansted during these times would be advised to allow extra time for any possible delays.
