ShareLuxe Club has joined Interval International’s expanding international portfolio, the leading exchange organisation has announced.
ShareLuxe’s first three properties include two century-old traditional Japanese townhouses in Kyoto and a villa in Bali, highlighting the trend for contemporary cultural travel.
Joe Hickman, Interval International’s executive director for the Asia Pacific region, said, “By blending authentic historical and cultural architecture with modern interior furnishings and luxury amenities, ShareLuxe has established itself in a new travel niche in two very appealing international vacation destinations.”
“Kyoto is Japan’s former imperial capital and still houses about one-fifth of its national treasures in its museums and more than 2,000 Buddhist and Shinto temples. And Bali holds great appeal with its idyllic beaches and lush terraced mountains, where it has managed to retain an almost mystical spirituality.”
ShareLuxe Kyoto Kizashi-Kamishichiken could be one of the most unique properties in the Interval International portfolio. A fully renovated century-old Japanese townhouse, it is located in a historic area on the outskirts of central Kyoto. Full of Japanese charm, the authentic property is tucked into a street lined with machiyas (townhouses) and Japanese tea-houses and the interiors are “traditional Japanese-meets-contemporary luxury”. The property has been retrofitted with a modern full-sized kitchen and amenities that include LCD TVs and studio-quality audio equipment.
On another quiet street several blocks away, ShareLuxe Kyoto Kizashi-Shinmachi is close to shops and restaurants, making it a great base from which to explore the cultural and historic sites in the heart of Kyoto city. Shinmachi Street is on the route for the Yamaboko parade during the month-long Gion Festival in July.
The Bali property, ShareLuxe Bali Tuka Terrace, is just a couple of miles from Canggu Beach and five miles from the popular tourist hub of Kuta. Canggu is not far from the well known stretch of coastline at Jimbaran Bay. It’s a very relaxed beach and a scenic spot, backed by rice fields, where Balinese fishermen continue their tradition and the area is rich in wildlife.
The traditional open-air Bail-style villa offers plenty of breathing space thanks to its open-plan design. It comes with an infinity pool, landscaped private garden and 24-hour butler/maid/security services, chef-prepared meals upon request, and private transport.
“Our goal is to build an inventory of distinctive properties that blend rich cultural experiences with 21st-century pampering. We are already planning a large development on the west coast of Okinawa Island in Japan, and we also have plans to expand our town house development in Kyoto,” said Hajime Mori, CEO of ShareLuxe Group. “We’re very excited to welcome Interval members to our properties and offer our Club members the quality and worldwide scope of Interval International’s exchange network.”
