Seattle: Top Things to See and Do while you're visiting this autumn

Famous for more than just that film, Seattle has emerged as a bustling metropolis in recent years. Packed with mouth-watering restaurants and interesting culture, it makes the perfect city break with a difference.

Even if you’re travelling on a budget, fret not – you don’t have to have a thick wallet to enjoy the Emerald City. Here are our top five free tourist attractions for you to enjoy while Sleepless in Seattle.

1)    Wander through Pike Place Farmers Market

While this incredible vibrant market is free at first glance, you’ll be sorely tempted by the goods on display and all the fresh, glossy produce…wander through the food, fish and flower stalls at your leisure, then take it easy with a cup of coffee and kick back and people watch.

2) Relax in Waterfall Garden Park

This peaceful park is tucked away in the Pioneer Square neighbourhood and makes for the perfect place to relax and unwind amidst the business of the city. One of Seattle’s first small ‘parklets’, you can even enjoy a 22ft waterfall as you escape the world.

3) Tour the Frye Art Museum

Not only can you benefit from both admission and parking, but you can also enjoy a complimentary tour of the Frye Art Museum throughout the week. Whether you’re going it alone or with a guide, wander around the beautiful collections of 19th and 20th century American, French, and German paintings and sculptures. Perfect if the weather isn’t playing ball and it’s raining!

4) Stroll through Olympic Sculpture Park

Home to over a dozen large artworks, the Olympic Sculpture Park is perfect for art and culture lovers. We especially love the sweeping red Eagle and the more unusual Echo. One of Seattle’s true landmarks.

5) Join the Silent Reading Party

On the first Wednesday of each month, the Sorrento Hotel transforms their Fireside Room into a quiet literary retreat. Join the eclectic mix of people snuggled on the sofas as they devour some of the world’s greatest literary pieces. Inspirational.
