John Spence, CEO of timeshare firm Karma Royal Group is set to join some of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs on the panel of Ernst and Young’s World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
He will be among those judging this year’s awards when they take place on June 6th in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year is the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs and recognises those who inspire others.
Guest speakers at this year’s gala ceremony include former Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, two-time champion F1 driver Mika Hakkinen, actor John Cleese, and Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.
John Spence said: “It is a tremendous honour to be selected to sit alongside some incredible legends of business as a judge on the panel for the 2013 Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
“Past judges have been scions of the business community, such as Steve Case of America Online, among others, so it is not only gratifying to me personally, but also great recognition for Karma Royal Group.”
John will be expected to draw on his experience from judging the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Australia, coupled with his knowledge of the entrepreneurial market and sector trends around the globe.
Businessman from over 50 countries across the globe will be taking part in this year’s awards.
With over twenty years experience at the forefront of the hospitality industry, John Spence was a successful music agent in London representing bands such as Culture Club, the Eurythmics and Bananarama.
Spence then moved into property sales and marketing and today the entrepreneurial chairman and owner of Karma Royal Group now has an impressive portfolio of brands – Karma Resorts, Chakra Resorts, Karma Beach International, Karma Spa and Royal Resorts – spanning from Asia to Europe, Australia and the Caribbean, with development plans for the Bahamas, Cuba, Brazil, North America, the Seychelles and the Middle East.
