With its striking palm-fringed beaches surrounded by rocky mountains, Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera has attracted sun-seekers and diving enthusiasts for decades.
And with a wealth of luxury hotels, visitors to the Red Sea are about to be even more spoilt for choice, with the launch of a glamorous new timeshare resort.
Interval International has announced that it will open the Dive Blue Beach Resort, near Marsa Alam, in June 2014.
The first phase of the resort will boast 81 luxurious timeshare units, as well as two large swimming pools, a marina, numerous restaurants and shops.
The Dive Blue Beach Resort is situated on a pristine beach, stretching up to one third of a mile long, and there will also be a spa as well as diving classes for both beginners and professionals. The resort will also cater for guests without timeshares, with 245 hotel suites also being built on the resort.
Sherif Khalil, Interval’s vice president of business development for the Middle East and North Africa, said: "Dive Blue Beach Resort sets a new standard in Marsa Alam, renowned for its unspoiled beaches and prime dive spots.
"Its world-class dive centre will rival resorts in other Red Sea locations like Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada. We’re proud to add this impressive property to Interval’s worldwide network.”
Marsa Alam has become a firm favourite for sports enthusiasts in recent years. Famed for its off-shore winds and moderate climate, it offers activities including windsurfing, parasailing, and water-skiing.
"Marsa Alam is one of the fastest growing cities on Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera and Dive Blue Beach Resort is its crown jewel," added Hany Roshdy, developer of Dive Blue.
"We look forward to introducing Interval members to the unspoiled beauty and incomparable water sports of Marsa Alam."
