EasyJet is already expanding its route network in time for summer, with a number of new routes kicking off including a service from London Southend Airport to Venice and Geneva to Seville.
February also marks the inaugural flights of its three latest routes from London Stansted Airport to Marrakech, Sofia and Sharm El Sheikh. The three new routes took off for the first time on 15, 16 and 17 February respectively, flying almost 3,000 passengers to these new easyJet destinations during this half-term period alone. An extra 100,000 seats will also be available from London Stansted to top holiday destinations during 2013.
The new Marrakech route is good news for UK-based Hapimag members wanting to escape to the Swiss-managed Hapimag Residence Marrakech resort in the exclusive palm-tree dotted La Palmeraie district of Marrakech, where February temperatures have been averaging 25C with crisp mornings and evenings and blissfully warm, blue sky days. EasyJet operates a number of direct services to Marrakech, from Geneva, Basle, Paris, Lyon, Milan, London Gatwick, Manchester and Berlin.
The Hapimag Residence, Marrakech offers an oasis of tranquility away from the busier parts of Marrakech. The resort is a short drive from the city’s main attractions, including the stylish cafes of Gueliz and Hivernage, the Royal Palace, the beautiful Agdal Gardens and famous Jemaa el Fnaa Square. The property features its own full service spa, and the resort has numerous sun-soaked terraces and pretty gardens for guests to enjoy Marrakech’s blue sky afternoons.
Hapimag Residence Marrakech organises a number of excursions, including a guided tour of the city which takes in its most famous landmarks and guests can also take a guided trip to the laid back charm of Morocco’s kite-surfing destination, Essaouira, which is about two and a half hours away by car.
The Marrakech Residence’s spacious two-storey apartments are all built in typical Moorish style. Ground floor apartments even have their own garden areas complete with table and chairs and sun loungers – a lovely spot for a freshly brewed mint tea after lunch, surrounded by olive, orange and lemon trees.
At the heart of the resort is the stylish pool area, lined with palm trees, complete with smart chaise longues – the perfect place to enjoy the last chapters of that paperback you haven’t had time to finish.
Spring is a beautiful time to visit Marrakech and with temperatures rising steadily as summer approaches, it’s the perfect escape from Britain’s long, lingering winter.
