French hotel and timeshare specialists Accor to add 100 luxury hotels by 2015

Top French hospitality group Accor says it hopes to add 100 new hotels to its luxury and upscale network by 2015.

The leading hotel brand which runs the well known Accor Vacation Club  aims to boost its current network of 300 hotels to 400 within two years, focusing on Asia – in particular China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Each of Accor’s complementary brands – including Sofitel, MGallery and Pullman – are designed to meet a whole range of clients’ and owners’ needs.

The company has grown stronger in Latin America, Middle East Africa and Asia Pacific in recent years  and currently, 42 per cent of the group’s luxury/upscale hotels are located in Asia Pacific and 35 per cent are in key European cities. Morocco is also an important destination, with a number of luxury Sofitel properties in main cities including Fez, Rabat, the coastal resort of Agadir and Marrakech.

Accor says its main focus in the next couple of years will turn to emerging markets, including Latin America, Middle East and Asia Pacific, with key countries to include China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Yann Caillère, Accor’s president, said: “One can now count on a strong European voice in the luxury and upscale market.

“Our brands combine the best of international standards and an audacious interpretation of the universal essence of luxury due to our French origins.

“Our ambition for our brands and their network are immense and we are perfectly tailored to expand rapidly on this market.”
