EasyJet joins Nectar points, CityJet launches new London to France routes
Airline news: members of the Nectar loyalty programme will soon be able to redeem points against Easyjet flights, while London City Airport-based CityJet is expanding its French destinations.
EasyJet joined the Nectar programme on March 22 – from then on, members will be able to use their Nectar points towards paying for EasyJet flights (including taxes and charges) with no restrictions or time limits. They’ll also be able to combine their points with cash to pay for tickets.
As with Eurostar and Expedia’s current programmes, EasyJet will offer a redemption rate of 500 points/£2.50.
More details will be on the Nectar site www.nectar.com from March 22. Nectar have said they expect about 300,000 flights to be booked using their points this year.

Meanwhile, CityJet is making it easier to escape to France from Blighty from time to time, as it launches new flights between London City Airport and Pau in southwest France, flying out three times a week from April 2.
The new route is to operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays on jets seating 95 passengers, with complimentary food on board.
Timings will be: Depart LCY at 0910 on Monday and Thursday, and 1200 on Saturday, arriving at 1215 and 1505 respectively. Coming back, flights will depart from Pau at 1250 on Monday and Thursday, and 1025 on Saturday, arriving back into London City Airport at 1345 and 1130.
Currently, Ryanair is the only other airline to offer direct filghts from London (Stansted) to Pau, which is close to the Pyrenees and the capital of the Bearn region. Ryanair’s flights leave on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
CityJet has announced it is also launching flights to Amsterdam twice a week plus a new service to the Emerald Isle. Passengers will be able to hop over to Dublin on the three times a week service (one flight is direct while the other two will go via. Amsterdam) from early April onwards.
