The Portuguese strike due to hit incoming and outbound flights has been called off at the eleventh hour.
Portuguese air traffic controllers will not be going ahead with their five day strike due to start tomorrow.
The walk-out has been cancelled following talks between the Portuguese government and Portugal’s NAV Workers’ Committee.
The workers had planned to strike as a public protest against cuts which are part of Portugal’s austerity measures.
TAP Air Portugal had already begun changing its schedules prior to the strike and is now reinstating its schedules back to normal as far as possible at the last minute, while Easyjet has announced that all its services to/from Portugal will now operate as normal and Ryanair flights will continue as normal, too.
