National Spanish airline Iberia will be cancelling well over a third of its flights (38%) this Wednesday following a decision by its pilots to take part in another strike.
131 flights won’t take off as scheduled and routes hit will include the London to Madrid service.
The Iberia walkouts are over a dispute with parent company International Airlines Group’s plans to launch a no-frills Spanish airline Iberia Express next month. This Wednesday will be the last day of the current walkouts which were scheduled for 13, 17, 20, 24 and 29 February.
British Airways is reporting that its Spain services won’t be affected by the action and will operate normally, although passengers who have booked seats on the Iberia flights affected – as well as BA flights which are operated by Iberia (under codeshare) – should be able to claim a refund. Air Nostrum flights which also service Spain will not be affected.
