General Strike in France Tuesday October 12: Flight Disruption Advisory

Strike will disrupt flights over French airspace, Ryanair and easyJet offering free booking changes or refunds

The French national general strike which will affect flights over the country’s airspace will definitely go ahead on Tuesday 12 October and is likely to cause high levels of disruption to passengers flying to and from France.

EasyJet is working closely with the French Government to try to minimise the impact to its customers although like its competitor Ryanair it will have to cancel a number of flights and both operators have been advised that there is a high risk of additional disruption during the day. Passengers travelling with other airlines should check before leaving for the airport.

EASYJET

EasyJet is offering its passengers the opportunity to change their flight date to an alternative one within five days, free of charge. Passengers should log into their “Manage Booking” account on www.easyjet.com and rebook as soon as possible. The website is already showing many flights to France as “cancelled”.

Passengers who plan to travel on October 12th should check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport and easyJet recommends where possible checking in online and travelling with hand baggage only.
