Timeshare owners and other holiday makers are not being put off heading to Europe by the euro exchange rate, it has been reported.

Over the last few months, the value of the euro has significantly weakened against the pound and the dollar, according to Theo Papathanasiou, Greek desk manager at World First.

Travellers are particularly not being put off heading to Greece, which is a lot cheaper than equivalent destinations in the sun, Mr Papathanasiou explained.

Greece also has historical significance in its favour with many unique historical sites as well as a sense of antiquity and ancient times that inspires people to head there for their holidays, he commented.

Climate is also a draw of the country while expat communities can benefit from the fact that 95 per cent of the Greek population can communicate in English.

Timeshare owners heading to the country can stay in a Classical Vacations resort, such as those found in Santorini and Mykonos.
