Hilton, the most recognised name in the hotel world worldwide, and one of the leaders in vacation ownership, says it expects to open 20 new properties in the UK by 2014. That’s as well as a number of converted properties which are joining Hilton’s portfolio following its acquisition of Mint Hotels.
12 new properties so far have been announced in the UK and most will go by the Hampton by Hilton brand, with hotels in Croydon, Burton Upon Trent, York, Luton and Exeter airports, Sheffield, London Waterloo, and two properties in Birmingham.
Hilton Worldwide is set to open a Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Lincoln and there are also plans for Hilton Hotels and Resorts-branded properties in both Wembley, London and Burton Upon Trent.
Hilton has big plans for Europe, too. The group says it aims to open a total of 110 hotels by 2014, with expansion in the UK, Russia, Turkey, Germany and Poland.
