Launched by inspirational local news anchor and three-time breast cancer survivor Donna Deegan, this also has to be one of our favourite beach runs. Raising millions of dollars for breast cancer research for The Donna Foundation, you can start at Vedra Beach and continue through Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach with this beautiful coastal route.

Big Sur International Marathon

Big Sur, California: April 24, 2016

Enjoy the dramatic Big Sur Marathon to experience the nation’s first ever Scenic Highway in the most spectacular way imaginable. However, if you miss the draw, there are also 21- and 10.6-milers, a 5-kilometer race and a marathon relay along the same course.

St. Jude Rock ‘n Roll Nashville Marathon

Anchorage Mayor’s Marathon and Half Marathon

St. George Marathon

St. George, Utah: October 2016

Deep in southwest Utah, the desert town of St. George hosts what “Runner’s World” has called one of only four “Marathons to Build a Vacation Around”. As an added bonus, Zion National Park is less than an hour from town, and the quiet North Rim of the Grand Canyon (still open in early October) is just over 100 miles.

Run your way through Pine Valley Mountains, back down to St. George (2,678 feet) and then plough through desert valleys and canyons along Utah State Route 18.
