Cornwall’s Trelowarren resort hosts special charity fashion show

Cornwall has long been one of Britain’s most fashionable ‘holiday-near-home’ destinations and last month fashionistas flocked to the picturesque Cornish estate of Trelowarren for a special charity fashion show.

Trelowarren hosted the show on March 15, attended by star guests while the clothes were modelled by students from Falmouth University and members of the Cornish Pirates rugby team.

The mixed-used RCI Gold Crown Resort organised the fashion day out to raise funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). As well as the catwalk show, a number of items were also generously donated as part of a silent auction.

Designers and donors for the catwalk show included milliner Holly Young, dress designer Annalise Harvey and silk lingerie designer Pom, while Cornish Pirates’ fly-half Kieran Hallett and his team mate Ben Mercer showed off some rather stylish black silk boxers.

Announcing the event, Victoria Vyvyan from the Trelowarren resort, said: “The silent auction will be a wonderful opportunity to buy something for yourself or someone special – knowing that every penny is going to such a good cause.

“We’re extremely grateful to so many friends who have put time, effort and so many generous donations into what we plan to be an entertaining evening.”

Trelowarren is set in 1,000 private acres of pasture and woodland leading down to the Helford River and has been owned by the same family for six hundred years. Unique attractions include the Rococco gardens, Halliggye Fogou, a mysterious neolithic champter, the estate’s brand new New Yard Restaurant and the Cornwall Crafts Association main gallery.

Trelowarren has recently announced a new flexible timeshare programme for 2013 at its chic five star self-catering country cottages, and further details can be found on its website, along with more information about the resort, last minute breaks and special offers at www.trelowarren.com
