    The airline plans to add two more by the end of the year, and three more by 2012.

  • If golf and Sicily sound like heaven, there’s not too long to wait until Wyndham’s new Catania Golf Resort opens in Carlentini. Located between the town of Catania and Syracuse, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the 192-bedroom and suite hotel it to overlook an 18-hole golf course. There are 224 fully-serviced residential units planned on three floors and the hotel will be marketed to appeal to a mix of business and leisure clientele.

    The port of Catania is Sicily’s second largest city after Palermo, once home to artists and writers, including the composer Vincenzo Bellini. Catania lies in the shadow of Mount Etna, the area’s world famous volcano. The baroque city architecture reflects its 18th century heritage.

  • New immigration rules have been put in place for those looking to travel to the US, it has emerged. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (Esta) has been introduced as of today and it means that travellers looking to get into the country have to register their details online at least three days in advance of departure.

    As the sixth film of the series Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hits the cinema screens across the globe, timeshare owners can head off around the world as well to areas such as Bulgaria to get their Potter fix, the firm explained.

  • The eurozone is still first choice for Britons heading abroad for the May bank holiday period, figures from Skyscanner have shown.

    This is despite the fact that the eurozone is more expensive than last year, Skyscanner reported, with the website's top 10 most searched-for destinations all located in the eurozone.

  • British travellers such as timeshare owners are increasingly looking to holiday in areas away from the eurozone, it has been reported.

  • Interval International has just announced the affiliation of Horse Country Resort on the island of Sardinia, one of Italy’s most sought-after holiday spots, and the second largest island in the Mediterranean.

    “Horse Country Resort is a truly unique vacation spot in one of Italy’s most appealing destinations,” said Darren Ettridge, Interval International’s vice president of resort sales and service for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. “The resort’s pristine setting and array of vacation amenities will appeal to a wide range of our members and is a strong addition to Interval’s vacation exchange network.”

  • Spain’s popular low-fare airline Vueling will start flying from Scotland on 24th June, 2010 with a three times weekly direct route between Edinburgh and Barcelona. The new route will enhance the airline’s existing UK operations from London Heathrow to Bilbao, La Coruna and Seville.

    From 24th June to 12th September, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday departures will be from Barcelona at 1130, arriving into Edinburgh Airport at 1315 and from Edinburgh at 1350, arriving Barcelona at 1725. Tickets are available to book online.
