Chocolate Week, London
Head to the capital for the country’s biggest chocfest at London, Olympia. Sample the chocolate as taster sessions, enjoy cookery demonstrations and classes by award-winning master chocolatiers and see how many different brands you can sample until you approach overdose!

Salon du Chocolat
Taking a timeshare city break in Paris at the end of the month? You’re in luck! Because it’s all about “chocolat” later this month again in The City of Love, when this foodie delight offers an eclectic selection of events, including a chocolate fashion show. The festival itself is held in 15 cities around the world, although the Parisian version features chocolate-making demonstrations from renowned chefs, as well as dance performances. Also starting late October is the World Chocolate Masters Final – see number 7!

Festival of Chocolate
As the largest chocolate event in the southeast of the USA, there are three locations chocolate lovers can flock to – Miami, Tampa and Orlando. Enjoy sampling chocolate and confectionery, then watch demos from acclaimed pastry chefs, take part in a chocolate game show, and let the kids loose with the children’s workshops.

Europe’s largest chocolate festival takes place in Perugia and attracts almost one million tourists a year who head here to sample Italy’s finest. Set your mouth watering with chocolate from street vendors, admire the chocolate sculptures, then tap your toes to the live music.

Head to exotic Mexico for the Salón Chocolate, which attracts chocolate lovers from around the world. Browse the chocolate vendors, head to one of the lectures, or hang out at the tastings and workshops. The Aztecs invented chocolate so there’s an extra special history behind this event

York Chocolate Festival
Impressively, York’s history as a chocolate-making supreme dates back to 1781, when the city had eight confectioners. The annual chocolate festival sees chocolate trails across various shops, chocolate-making workshops and a chocolate market with weird and wacky wonders such as chocolate vodka. You’ll have to wait till next year for this one, it normally takes place around April.

World Chocolate Masters Final
Dedicated to the art and creative use of chocolate, this festival has to be seen to be believed. The theme of this year’s contest is ‘Inspiration from Nature’, which will see the winners from 19 countries gather for the international final. Representing the UK is Alistair Birt.
