The low-cost carrier will also add frequencies on 17 existing routes, boosting passenger levels by an estimated 1,300,000 per year.
Starting in April, Ryanair will fly from Stansted to Basel, Bordeaux, Brive, Bucharest, Comiso, Dortmund, Lisbon, Osijek, Podgorica, Prague, Rabat and Skelleftea. The 12 new destinations will take the total number of Ryanair routes from Stansted to 126.
There’s good news for timeshare owners who love city breaks, too. Ryanair’s increased frequencies will include existing routes from Stansted to major cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Madrid, Milan and Rome.
Michael O’Leary, the company’s CEO, said: “Ryanair is pleased to deliver 12 new Europe routes, as well as increased frequencies on 17 existing routes, which will deliver over 1,300,000 additional passengers per annum and sustain over 1,300 “on-site” jobs at Stansted Airport.
“As Stansted’s biggest airline, Ryanair looks forward to growing traffic, routes and jobs at Stansted.”
