BMI tempts passengers with inflight treats

Drizzle is forecast for the holidays – but it’s good news.

Holidaymakers heading to their timeshare getaways will notice lemon drizzle cake, Victoria sponge and carrot cake making the cabin rounds on bmi flights in the coming months. The airline will be serving passengers cakes, soft hot and cold drinks and even hot food – all free of charge – on UK, Ireland and Hanover flights departing between 10am and noon, and from 1.30pm until tea time.

Bmi’s chief commercial officer Joerg Hennarmann said the airline had listened to customers and that’s what they wanted: “Our freshly-made cakes are a delicious and very welcome addition to our onboard service.”

Anyone booking a flexible economy ticket on bmi for flights covering the UK, Hanover (Germany) and Ireland will be able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with a nice slice of cake. Hot food is included in the ticket prices, too, in the shape of hot breakfast wraps served on flights leaving before 10am, a hot lunch wrap at lunchtime and evenings.

Mr. Hennarmann added, “We will be the only scheduled airline to offer a complimentary hot food service in Economy Class on European Flights.”

Bmi is adding to its services from London’s Heathrow with a new daily flight commencing August 25th, to Nice in France.

Lemon drizzle cake and the south of France? Very Nice.
