Best Sunshine Breaks for October Half Term

Did you miss out on your fix of sunshine over the summer? Then a spot of hot weather come the October half-term can be just the ticket –  it’s the perfect antidote to cooler, darker nights. If you’re looking to escape with the kids over the half-term break, here are some of the sunniest, most loved timeshare destinations for that week away.

1)   Cyprus

With its mild, sun-drenched climate, Cyprus is such a family-friendly holiday for an October break. With peak season a distant memory, now is the perfect time to snap up a family villa and soak up that sun.

 2)   Tenerife

With its mix of family mega resorts and quieter downtown boutique hotels, Tenerife has something for everyone – and its temperatures stay sizzling compared to the rest of Europe, even through to the end of the year. For a quieter break, try staying in the greener north of the island and exploring the local scenery and nature.

3)   Marrakech

Unveil the magic and mystery of ancient Marrakech with a holiday that will stay in your memory for years to come. Unwind around a hotel pool with spectacular views of the Atlas mountains, then take a stroll into the souks to discover all the history and culture this exotic country has to offer.

4)   Sicily

While Sicily can be scorching hot in terms of prices during peak season, things calm down a lot come the autumn. This pretty island boasts the perfect combination of historical sites – from the Ancient Greeks to the Romans – a spectacular coastline, some lovely resorts and a long, warm autumn. In winter, however, it’s the coldest of our picks, so if you can’t get away until winter, go for Tenerife or Marrakech, instead.

5)     The Algarve

Sun worshippers will love the fact that the summer season lingers well into October here, with temperatures holding up around 23C throughout the month. There are also plenty of family friendly resorts to enjoy, delicious cuisine and some spectacular golf courses for anyone who’s looking to stay a little more active.
