New plane will take in-flight entertainment to new heights
British Airways has become the first UK airline to take delivery of a brand spanking new twin-jet Boeing 777-300ER.
The airline plans to add two more by the end of the year, and three more by 2012.
The new wide-bodied planes are more fuel efficient and quieter than their predecessors and BA will fit its first acquisition with a new interior that features new World Traveller and World Traveller Plus cabins plus a new in-flight entertainment system.
Passengers will be able to choose from among 230 TV shows, 70 films, 400 CDs and “plug and play technology” will be a feature on the 297-seat, four class planes (First Cabin, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller).
Announcing the news, Business Traveller magazine says passengers can also expect new soft furnishings, in-seat power, one inch extra recline in World Traveller Plus and 60% larger high-resolution screens will be another enhancement of the in-flight entertainment system.
