After winning the Giro d’Italia, Spanish cycling champion Alberto Contador is going for a double as he sets his sights on the 2015 Tour de France which starts next week.
And one company that will be riding all the way with Contador and his team, Tinkoff-Saxo, is the Canary Islands-based Anfi Group who have extended its sponsorship deal.
Anfi, a leading RCI affiliate – will be one of the main sponsors of Contador’s racing team Tinkoff-Saxo at the Tour de France which begins July 4th, and the riders will be wearing striking new outfits featuring Anfi’s logo during the race.
Contador, winner of the 2007 Tour de France and one of only six riders to have won all three Grand Tours in the sport, will be wearing the new yellow and black team gear, emblazoned with the Anfi logo.
José Luis Trujillo, Anfi’s general director, said: “This new promotional activity by the Anfi Group will strengthen our brand worldwide,” he said. “Contador is a living example of sacrifice and perseverance. A shining example of commitment and dedication that has rubbed off on us here at Anfi from day one.
Alberto Contador and his team will be staying at Anfi’s resorts later this year. The complexes include five luxury hotels totalling approximately 5,000 beds near the beach, golf course and a marina.
Contador commented: “It is an honour to wear the logo of a company with top quality infrastructures and service.”
The Spanish champion said he was feeling very positive about the Tour and added that he trains up to twice a year at Anfi’s home base island Gran Canaria, saying “both Anfi and Gran Canaria are the perfect setting for relaxation and cycling. They offer unique conditions for practising this sport.”
“There are very few places in the world with these characteristics. And, in our case, at Anfi’s complexes, where we stay twice a year, we feel more at home than at home. We are always very well looked after and treated like kings.”
