Until now, once you’ve checked in online and printed your own boarding pass, it has been difficult to make changes, but Ryanair has just announced a new policy that allows for changes online or via its telephone reservations for €15 per passenger, per flight. Changes can be made up to 5pm on the evening before the departure date.
“Ryanair is pleased to introduce a new passenger flight “uncheck” service which allows passengers to access and amend their bookings after they have checked in online,” said Stephen McNamara, Ryanair’s head of communications.
Very last minute changes can be made up to 5pm the day before departure by calling Ryanair’s telephone bookings centres.
In June easyJet launched its own new Flexi fare, giving passengers unlimited flexibility to change flight dates right up to the wire – just two hours prior to scheduled departure time. Flexi fare bookings are more expensive than standard tickets but also include automatic speedy boarding, no booking fees and a checked piece of luggage. Reservations can be changed within a four week period – with unlimited changes – from one week before departure and up to three weeks after the original booking was made.
