It may feel a bit early to be thinking about ski trips and Christmas markets when we haven’t even officially “launched” summer yet, but…there’s great news for Birmingham residents who’ll have new getaways to escape to this coming winter.
And because early bookers normally get the best deals, it’s worth noting that Flybe’s daily services from Birmingham airport to Hamburg, Germany and Oslo, Norway will start on October 26, with one-way fares from £39.99.
Flybe says it’s also extending services to fly year-round on six of the new routes it is operating this summer from Birmingham.
It will continue to operate up to 28 weekly flights this winter to Cologne, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Florence and Oporto and ice hotel lovers will be happy to hear Flybe will have a winter route to Reykjavik in Iceland.
The new routes are expected to generate an extra 100,000 passengers a year for Birmingham Airport which is now Flybe’s largest ever base.
This is particularly good news for local residents who often have to tack on a rail or road journey to or from an airport in London.
William Pearson, Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Development Director, commented: “Flybe’s Birmingham route network is going from strength to strength after announcing nine new routes already this year and becoming our largest carrier.”
The addition of the new flights from Birmingham is of huge benefit to timeshare owners in the new destinations, as they’ll have the opportunity to book well in advance in order to secure the lowest fares.
